Introduction

If you are thinking of living in France or moving to France, you will have read books or magazines about life on the continent, or seen it on TV. There are many perspectives and views on this subject. Some have elements of truth; however, there are also many myths on the subject.

French Liaison is here to help remove any doubts and anxiety, help make your transition to the French system as smooth as possible. We try to tell it how it is, giving sound advice and help, looking always at the positive aspects, of which there are many.

For those of you already living in France, you will now be more aware of the language and cultural differences. You might be receiving letters that are difficult to understand, you may need help and advice on this and many other matters.

We have a wealth of experience and knowledge gained from our own experiences. Yes, we have been through it ourselves. We also have people at hand who can be called upon, who have specific expertise and skills. We do not pretend to know it all, but what we don't know we will find out. We have a large range of services that are listed in this brochure which are being updated on a regular basis.

How French Liaison evolved

The founder of French Liaison Tony came to France to live in 2003. Having been a regular visitor and fell in love with the Country, many years ago.

He operated his own Computer Business in the UK, but was gradually becoming disillusioned not only with the direction the Industry was going in the UK, but also with life itself in the UK.

He wanted more for his family he wanted to give them a better future. After a family meeting it was decided to explore the possibilities of moving to France. To cut the story short within 12 months the whole family had moved to France.

None of them have any regrets about moving to France, except that they should have done it sooner.

When they moved to France they thought they had it all planned, but soon came across the French bureaucracy and red tape. And as you would expect everything was new and very different to the UK. That to be honest was why they came to France. They were very lucky they met people who were very helpful and put them on the right track, which enabled them to find a Home and start a Business. They realize now that it could have been very different, they could easily have been given the wrong information in good faith.

Their principal business activity was running a Computer Shop in southwest France. However, it did not take long before were a large number of people coming into the Shop who needed Help Advice and Assistance of some kind, which was totally unrelated to Computers.

It was at this point the concept of French Liaison was created.
